About
Located in the beautiful and picturesque Currumbin Valley, the Veterans Organic Garden is a collaborative project between Freemans Organic Farm and veterans from the local community. No matter what level of physical fitness or ability, the Veterans Organic Garden is a space for veterans who are struggling with isolation, PTSD & loss of purpose, and to help them with healing through farming. The farm will provide healthy organic fruit and vegetables while teaching the 12 principles of organic farming, sustainable agriculture and soil regeneration
Our vision is to cultivate a thriving regenerative organic garden that serves as a sanctuary for veterans and first responders, fostering healing, community, and connection. Through hands-on gardening, we aim to empower individuals, promote sustainable practices, and create a supportive environment where personal growth and camaraderie flourish. We envision a space where nature nurtures both body and mind, honouring the sacrifices of our heroes while promoting wellness, resilience, and a sense of belonging.
As Farmer David is a veteran himself, he has a passion to help service men and women find healing through gardening. Freemans Farm have kindly donated 8000m² of land to create a Veterans Organic Garden.
This is a place where Veterans can come and relax, get in tune with nature, interact with other Veterans, or simply enjoy the peacefulness.
